Voting and Elections

One of the most significant rights of Urlennian nationals is the right to vote—a pledge of allegiance to the nation. Today, nationals aged 21 and above cannot be denied this right based on religion, sex, disability, or sexual orientation, with racism explicitly prohibited by the Constitution. In every Dominion, nationals with a valid Urlennian National ID Card are automatically registered to vote.

Article Six, Section Six, dedicates specific protections to uphold the voting rights of all nationals. National elections are held as required by the Constitution, with scheduled term limits for all members of the Royal Council and Lawful Elders of the inferior-Lawful Chambers, necessitating reelection in designated election years.

The dominions administer national elections under the Sovereign’s direction, ensuring uniformity across all regions. While the Constitution and Urlennian law grant each Dominion certain flexibilities in managing elections, these practices require the Sovereign’s direct, written approval with confirmation from the Imperial Royal Council.
